Inventory section and click
Create Product button.
The system opens Add Product dialog:
Code (Mandatory): here you can enter alpha-numeric values to identify the product, in other words product SKU. If you don’t have your own product numbering scheme, the system will generate sequential numbering for you (by default).
Name (Mandatory): enter the full name of the product.
Type (Mandatory): you have to select the product type here. The system offers 4 predefined product types: Beverage, Food, Hot Drink & Ingredient, but you can create unlimitted number of your own product types from tab Configuraion | Product Types.
Barcode (Optional): Enter product’s barcode number.
Units per Case (Optional): enter the number of bottles / cans per case for drinks or number of items in box for Snacks for example. This number is used when you create your Purchase records: you can enter the number of cases you bought as well as the price per case and the system will calculate the number of single units in the Purchase and also the price per single unit.
Reorder Point (Optional): here you can enter what is the stock level at which you should consider replenishing this product. When product stock in warehouse drops below the specified reorder point, the product will be displayed in the Inventory to Reorder report. Enter quantitity in single units.
Initial Inventory Setup section:
Quantity (Optional): Enter the quantity on hand (in single units) that you have in your warehouse. This quantity is entered at initial Product creation and after that can be changed only by Adjust Quantity functionality.
Unit Cost (Optional): The price per unit of the product at which you buy from supplier. This is the price for the initial quantity. This cost, together with the data from the purchases, is used by the system to calculate product Average Cost.
Total Value: calculated automatically by the system: Total Value = Quantity * Unit Cost.
When you are ready with entering product data, click button
Save. Your new product will be available in Inventory table.
